This is the first time I tried to make this yam cake using the old grandmother's method - "guesstimates". I didn't weigh any of the igredients, just plain "agatation". The recipe with proper measurement is here .
I soaked the dried scallops in XO for few hours but hubby said the alcohol taste is too strong. *tsk* Personally I like the aroma but if it does not appeal to you, just reduce or omit lor :-)))
Mum likes it very much. Mother-in-law complained too bland. Hubby said better without the XO. Haiz, can't please everyone!
